The SUPERIOR Compact
Support the goals of building a local food system by asking your City, Township, County, (sample resolution) business, organization, restaurant, clinic, hospital, day care (see signatory list) to embrace the goal of 20% local foods by 2020 and 50% local foods by 2050. Sign on to the effort showing your support and do what you can to help the region move in this direction within the scope of your work. Together, with a collective vision, communication and coordination this region can develop a secure, resilient and just food system.

Why create this Superior Food Web?
Throughout this region, individuals, businesses and organizations have been working on building a local food system. There has been much progress over the years, and this website will provide a forum for additional collaboration, coordination and communication, making the sum of our efforts greater than our individual acts. Together, we can move this region forward. The Superior Food Web can provide individuals and groups with email news updates, an interactive calendar of events, a web-based registration system for meetings or conferences, and links to all the players within the Locally Adapted Food System movement throughout Western Lake Superior. In addition, a Food Policy Coalition (FPC) could be formed where representatives from the different players unite their energies and coordinate their efforts. This is a critical point in history. New paths are being blazed, and the Superior Food Web can help create a cohesive and comprehensive route for the journey!
